Present over Perfect
As the holiday season kicks into full gear, it is easy to be focused on our to-do lists, our gift list, our calendar. It's easy to stress about the holiday meal, the family coming into town, running out of wrapping paper. We can become consumed with getting everything "just right."
Instead, I challenge you to be PRESENT in this holiday season. Put down the iPad and don't worry if the turkey is overstuffed. Don't even try to copy the pinterest tables and decorations that people pretend to casually put together. Enjoy not being picture perfect. Imperfection can be your perfection.
By being present, you can sense the wonder in your child's eyes. You can notice the Salvation Army bell-ringer. You can enjoy the season.
JUST BE PRESENT. IN THE MOMENT. Let this presence be your present to yourself and your family.
Wabi-sabi.
